Prominent leaders from Wajir County, including Eldas Member of Parliament (MP) Adan Keynan, joined residents and family members to celebrate Mr. Hussein’s safe return. The gathering was filled with heartfelt emotions as Mr. Hussein recounted his ordeal.

Political and Community Leaders Welcome Hussein’s Release

Wajir Governor and Council of Governors Chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi expressed his heartfelt relief after receiving news of Mr. Hussein’s release. Addressing the crowd gathered at Mr. Hussein’s residence, Governor Abdullahi lauded the community’s solidarity throughout the challenging period.

“We are grateful that our brother has finally returned home. It has been a tough time for his family and the people of Wajir. This moment calls for unity and gratitude,” said Governor Abdullahi.

MCA’s Ordeal Still a Mystery

While details about Mr. Hussein’s captivity remain unclear, sources close to the family hinted that the MCA was abducted under mysterious circumstances. It is still uncertain whether his abduction was politically motivated or linked to other disputes.

Family members expressed their deep gratitude to all those who supported them during the trying period. “We lived in fear, not knowing whether he was alive or not. But today, we are filled with gratitude,” said Mr. Hussein’s brother.

The reunion was characterized by traditional dances, prayers, and warm embraces from friends and relatives who had gathered to welcome Mr. Hussein back home.

Leaders Call for Enhanced Security Measures

Following the MCA’s release, several leaders called on the government to intensify security measures to curb similar abductions in the region. They emphasized the importance of ensuring that political leaders and civilians feel safe in their communities.

“Such incidents are unacceptable. We urge the relevant authorities to investigate this case thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice,” added MP Keynan.

As Mr. Hussein gradually adjusts to life after captivity, his family, colleagues, and constituents remain hopeful that he will resume his legislative duties soon.
