Kenyan authorities have discovered the body of British businessman Campbell Scott, who went missing more than a week ago, in a gruesome crime that has shocked the country.
Scott, believed to be from Dunfermline, Scotland, was last seen on February 16 attending a business conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi. His body was found over the weekend in a sack of pineapples in a forest located 66 miles southeast of the capital.
Disturbing Details of the Discovery
According to local administrator Thomas Maitha, Scott appeared to have been brutally tortured before his death. His eyes were gouged out, his ears were cut off, and his hands were tied behind his back before being stuffed into the sack alongside ripe pineapples.
Investigation and Arrests
CCTV footage reportedly captured Scott leaving the JW Marriott Hotel with a man dressed in a white T-shirt and blue jeans before they entered a taxi.
Following this lead, Kenyan police arrested a taxi driver and a waiter from the club where Scott was last seen. Authorities are now working to unravel the motive behind the murder and identify any additional suspects involved.
Scott’s murder has raised serious concerns about security for foreign nationals in Kenya, especially those involved in business and investment in the country. Investigations are ongoing.
