Kenya’s travel and tourism sector is counting down to one of its most prestigious annual celebrations—the Kenya Travel Industry Business Awards (KeTIBA) 2025. With just ten days to go, excitement is building ahead of the highly anticipated gala scheduled for December 5, 2025, at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi.
Organised by the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA), KeTIBA has grown into a flagship event that recognises excellence, innovation, and leadership across Kenya’s travel ecosystem. What began as an awards ceremony has evolved into a benchmark of industry standards, credibility, and collaboration.
Last year’s edition drew more than 250 delegates and celebrated over 32 organisations. The 2024 ceremony also saw record-breaking nominations, driven by strengthened auditing, improved transparency, and widespread industry confidence in KeTIBA’s peer-reviewed structure.
This year, organisers expect an even larger turnout, with over 350 delegates set to attend the red-carpet black-tie gala. KeTIBA’s unique three-tier recognition model—combining peer nominations, industry voting, and public voting audited by Ronalds LLP—continues to set it apart as Kenya’s only peer-reviewed travel industry award.
Public voting remains open until November 30, boosting participation across travel agencies, airlines, hotels, technology providers, insurance players, payment partners, and emerging innovators.
Guests at the glamorous 2025 gala will enjoy live entertainment, fine dining, and the unveiling of this year’s winners across expanded categories that reflect the industry’s digital transformation and renewed growth. KATA says the increased participation signals strong optimism as the sector accelerates innovation and rebuilds momentum after years of global disruptions.
